Jennie recently asked me how we can include home videos of Alyssa on the Herald. Since she isn’t a computer geek like me, I decided to implement a simple way for her to upload and display videos without requiring my assistance.
So, in order to test this new video thingie, I decided to grab a video from YouTube:

Boy, the time really flies by! Alyssa is one month old already! She is beginning to smile (other than what looks like it might be brought on by gas!) a lot more, although I have yet to catch her with a camera. She is spending more time awake each day and is more and more interested in seeing new things. She noticed the mobile over her swing yesterday and saw the spinning night light during a 2am diaper change yesterday morning. We have also noticed that she focuses on certain things really hard and looks like she wants to reach out and grab them. She is changing so much every day!
As a little side note about me, I went to the doctor on Thursday for the post-partum check, and everything is looking great. I have lost all of the pregnancy weight! Now, if I can just get my stomach to look less like a Jell-O mold, I’ll be thrilled!

Back when I installed the software responsible for the blog you are reading now, one of my main priorities was to figure out a way to display our photos next to our posts and comments. Since you are here, reading about our lives, it seemed only proper that you should be able to see us as well.
Well, not only did I figure out a way to do just that, but I also discovered that the comments left by visitors (such as yourself) could also be configured to display an image next to the text.
Unfortunately, I’ve come to the realization that I haven’t done a satisfactory job at explaining just how exactly you can do this. Why do I think this? Well, if you were to browse through the comments of The Harke Herald, you might notice that most of the entries look something like this:

You don’t want to be a John or Jane Doe, right? Great! Then allow me to show you how to get your Gravatar, which is simply a photo or image representing you, next to all of your comments.

Don’t worry, I’m not trying to mislead you with the title. This post, along with everything else Jennie and I have published since the beginning of The Harke Herald, can now be found in the new archives page:

If you are a relatively new visitor to our blog, the archives probably won’t be all that useful. However, if you’ve been following the Herald for awhile, the archives page is a great way to find a particular event or photo without having to wade through the entire blog. Best of all, the archives page automatically updates itself when we make a post, so it will always be current.
By the way, if you haven’t already checked out the photo gallery, try it now. I think I’ve managed to fix all of the Internet Explorer related display problems that plagued the gallery’s first few days online, but please leave a comment here if you are experiencing any errors.

We had a nice time yesterday. We made a barbeque lunch for the new Dad and Grandpa Seanachai, and we had fun passing Alyssa around. Mom and I had been to Pier 1 kids on Friday and bought some pretty butterfly decorations for Alyssa’s room, so we all got into putting them up. It looks so girly!
Mike and I got a much-needed nap in the afternoon and took Alyssa for a long walk around the neighborhood in her stroller (twice compared to our usual once around). It was a really nice day!
Happy Father’s Day, Dads!
The following pictures are of Alyssa checking out her mirror over her changing table, being held by her Daddy, and the new decorations in her room… butterflies over her crib, a flower mobile in the middle of the room, and extra animals around the mirror.
